Colin Fleming, AICP
Colin Fleming manages the firm’s planning and outreach projects for numerous clients and involving diverse modes such as transit, pedestrian, bicycle, freight and highway. He excels at being detail-oriented while also seeing the big picture to bring all of the complementary aspects of a project together.
Prior to joining Metro Strategies, Colin was a transportation planner for Short Elliott Hendrickson, a planning and civil engineering firm. Colin worked on a range of transportation projects, including corridor studies, environmental justice studies and bicycle accommodation studies. He guided projects through the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process and assisted in the development of over a dozen NEPA environmental documents. Colin also coordinated stakeholder outreach and public involvement activities for transportation projects. His passion for public engagement and working on a broad range of projects is what drew Colin to join the Metro Strategies team.
In addition to his transportation planning work, Colin has over five years of experience working in the nonprofit sector where he developed and implemented social service programs, assisted with grant writing and managed community-wide events.
Colin holds a master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a bachelor’s in Social Welfare from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and the American Planning Association. Away from the office, Colin enjoys playing tennis, exploring new neighborhoods and restaurants and going on bike rides.
