Jordan Jones is a skilled young professional with experience in academic research, policy analysis, communication and issue advocacy. While completing a Master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Jordan began to transition into research-based professional roles. In his work at UIC’s Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement, he authored a report for the Illinois Department of Transportation on how to perform quality public engagement, exploring topics such as disadvantaged populations, civic technology, legal foundations for public engagement and public engagement frameworks.
Other noteworthy professional experiences include a two-year stretch as a group leader building houses with Habitat for Humanity and positions on two highly competitive Congressional campaigns. He also once spent a month traveling throughout India while working as a production associate for a small film crew. Jordan came to Metro Strategies in March 2017 and looks forward to bringing his strong communication and analysis skills to tasks involving civic engagement, community development and urban planning, among others.
An excellent writer, Jordan also holds a B.A. with Honors in English from the University of Iowa. Originally from Des Moines, IA, he enjoys the vibrant city life offered by Chicago. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running and exploring the region by bike.
