Ed Parks manages several of Metro Strategies' contracts related to the Illinois Tollway's Move Illinois capital program. He manages outreach efforts and works across Tollway departments and consulting teams to ensure successful project delivery. Additionally, he leads planning and policy strategy development for the Tollway and other Metro Strategies' projects. Ed is primarily stationed at the Illinois Tollway offices to ensure exceptional service and up-to-the-minute project response.
Ed has a large capacity for absorbing and understanding national and international trends and policy. He relishes research work and staying on top of emerging technologies, and linking that information to current project assignments. He strives to bring new concepts and best practices to clients to help advance transportation as we know it.
After graduating with his master's degree in Urban and Environmental Planning, Ed lived and worked in Australia for five years before returning to the states and joining Metro Strategies. He worked in a variety of roles in commercial organizations and government departments, which allowed him to gain an understanding of decision making from a strategic level to practical projects. Ed involved himself in all aspects of planning from the analysis of raw data to understanding stakeholder requirements and restrictions within projects.
In his free time, Ed plays hockey, cycles and likes to travel.
