Seema Wadia specializes in grant writing, policy research and project management for government and nonprofit clients. She has over 17 years of experience working with health, environmental, transportation and human service agencies during all phases of program management—from planning and implementation to evaluation for a range of issues. Seema’s work with nonprofit agencies began with a fellowship in international development management when she worked with a rural women’s collective in India. This was followed by a position as research and project coordinator with an urban environmental organization in Canada. Seema then worked at NAMI DuPage as grants manager and director of development, successfully starting and establishing the agency’s core development office functions.
Since joining Metro Strategies in 2010, Seema has developed and written grant proposals resulting in over $15 million in approved awards for both government and nonprofit clients. In addition to grant writing, Seema leads the firm’s planning and project implementation work, overseeing best practice research and methodologies, writing technical reports and managing all reporting aspects and project compliance requirements. She also offers expertise in stormwater management practices and policy initiatives.
Seema is a past board president of the Grant Professionals Association Chicago Area Chapter and a current volunteer for Metropolitan Asian Family Services. She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Studies and a B.A. in Political Science. Outside the office, Seema enjoys reading and exploring Midwest weekend getaway spots with her family.
